I Left My Heart In San Francisco

This past April, we were scheduled to head up to our favorite CA city, San Francisco.  As luck would have it, however,we were nearing the end of our escrow period on the new house and we both felt that going out of town would be asking for trouble.  Instead of testing the escrow fates, we decided to postpone our trip until now.

We packed up and headed out on the first flight out Saturday morning.  We got into the city and enjoyed all our favorite sites and sounds.  We just happened to be staying outside of Berkeley this time, and shared our hotel with the Ohio State Buckeye Alumni Association.  It turns out Cal and Ohio were playing in Berkeley and we had the privilege of being lost in a perpetual sea of red whenever we were at the hotel.

We had an opportunity to see James and Vicky as well as Sonja and Brent.  We ate wonderful food, caught bits of the America's Cup, hung out with many a New Zealander (in town for America's Cup) and took Clare and Laurel on their first cable car ride (with Clare serenading the riders with her wonderful rendition of "I Left My Heart In San Francisco").

Our trip was wonderful.  Jonathan and I had a chance to play with try out the new camera and have 1,000 (literally) pictures to show for it.  We genuinely enjoyed every minute of our time away, and came home late Monday night to the disappointment of our children who apparently share our Wanderlust.

Next on the agenda...TWO weeks at home and then we are off on a hunt for some lovely Fall color in Vermont, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
