Lot's of Walking

Fall is officially upon us.  In CA it's sometimes hard to tell that a season has changed until the time changes.  In this case, the time change on Sunday morning would mean the beginning of very short days - and the end of our evening walks as a family.  While the cold isn't much of a deterrent to our beach strolls the dark is.  Sadly, it is now getting dark around 5:00 in the evening, well  before the Mister is home from work.  As you know, walking is one of our favorite things to do.  We get to exercise the dog, catch up on each other's day and let our little munchkin get some of the insane amounts of energy out of her system before the nighttime routine commences.

Last week, in preparation for the change of time, we took many opportunities to walk.  We hit the beach, the parks, the streets of Costa Mesa and we even went on a little hike Saturday morning, sadkt acknowledging that our daylight hours were limited.

Today, Munich, Clare and I went for a nice long stroll in the Back Bay.  Clare and I are hoping that Munich won't miss her evening walks too much if her afternoon walks are a little longer, but we aren't holding our breaths.  Munich loves us, but is used to her evening ritual with Jonathan, and I'm afraid this time change is going to be hardest on her.  The good news is that we have a lot of beautiful pictures from our walks this past week (taken in between rain showers) to hold us over until Spring is here again...
